Cooperation for development awards iidl-Castelló City

This award is part of the agreement between Universitat Jaume I and Castelló City Council under the title “Conference on the Exchange of Good Practices of the University Master’s Degree in Cooperation for Development (MCAD-UJI) and the IIDL-City of Castelló Cooperation for Development Award”, 2020, and aims to improve the quality of the development and international cooperation interventions of the actors linked to the Valencian Community and in particular the city of Castelló, by providing specialised university training in the field of Cooperation for Development.

As stated in the Education for Development Instrument (IED3) of the 1st International Cooperation Plan for Development and Solidarity 2019-2022 of the Castelló Town Council, it is committed to training and raising awareness among the university population in matters of development at the Universitat Jaume I.

The Inter-University Institute for Local Development (IIDL), through the Master’s Degree in Cooperation for Development at the Universitat Jaume I, proposes with this agreement, to raise awareness and sensitize the city of Castelló and the University community of the UJI, about the situation of inequality and inequity in many developing countries, in order to encourage the generation of attitudes of solidarity and commitment to the fight against poverty among the population.

It should be noted that the academic objectives of the Master’s and the project coincide with the Objectives of Sustainable Development (ODS), the principles set out in the strategic framework of the IV Master’s Plan for Valencian Cooperation 2017-2020, by proposing a training process in which the promotion of human capital becomes a vector for the social growth of the people and with the I Plan for International Cooperation for Development and Solidarity 2019-2022, which points out the importance of taking advantage of the existing capacities in Castelló in Cooperation for Development, through the trained and motivated student body coming from the UJI Master’s.
